A Message from President Robin E. Roberts
My name is Robin Roberts and I am the President of the Eastern Shore Police Association. I come to you with nearly 24 years of Law Enforcement experience, over 20 of those years with the Sheriff’s Office serving the citizens of Wicomico County. I am married to Phylis Roberts, my wife of 19 years and who is a retired Maryland State Police Trooper of 26 years, and who is currently employed as a civilian employee with the Maryland State Police. I have three children Shawn Roberts of Delmar, Michael and Megan Roberts of Fruitland, and two stepchildren, John Lord of Pittsville, and Dennis Lord of Salisbury also retired Maryland State Police Trooper. What I want to convey to you, is that I too want to continue the forward momentum of the E.S.P.A.; now that it has been set into motion. I will make the E.S.P.A. people friendly for the citizens of the Eastern Shore. My mission for E.S.P.A. is to continue to help Law Enforcement help the youth of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and to maybe make a difference in a child’s life, After all that’s what and why Camp E.S.P.A. came to be. As President of the Eastern Shore Police Association I will put to good use our position on the Maryland Police Training Commission and work hard to make decisions that will benefit our brothers and sisters of law enforcement of the great State of Maryland as well as the Eastern Shore. I intend to create an email where you can contact me directly with suggestions and problems. As President of the Eastern Shore Police Association I invite you to become active in your Association. I invite community leaders to join me in working on an even better way to improve Camp E.S.P.A. As your President I will continue to listen to and learn from the men and women who lay their life on the line everyday to protect and serve the citizens of the State of Maryland and who are without a doubt some of the finest people I have had the honor to work with, that being the Law Enforcement community. The Eastern Shore Police Association of Maryland was organized by local police officers in 1958. The purpose of the Association is to bring all divisions of Law Enforcement together so they can meet and discuss the ever-changing procedures, which affect our patterns of work on the Eastern Shore. It is the intent of the Association to unite the efforts of Law Enforcement personnel. Through contacts with the elected officials of the Shore and State we are able to help legislative matters pass or get defeated, depending on how they affect our Law Enforcement Officers. Through our representative on the Maryland Police Training Commission we have input on all matters that concern officer training. The Association will and does represent your interest in the Maryland Legislature. Another major function of the Eastern Shore Police Association is to operate CAMP ESPA. The camp which is owned and operated by The Association to assure that many of the underprivileged and at risk children of the Eastern Shore have an opportunity to spend part of their summer learning new things, while at the same time having a good time. At Camp ESPA we have riverfront for boating, a pier for fishing, a swimming pool, several acres of land, and a fully equipped clubhouse, which features sleeping quarters for 30 with full bathrooms and showers. Any person working in Law Enforcement working on the Eastern Shore of Maryland may submit an application for active membership, retired is just a proud title and has the same membership as active. Associate memberships are those who are not or have not been Officers on the Shore but work for a Law Enforcement Agency. Your membership would help ensure that our goal is accomplished. I hope that you will join us. If you have any questions, please call me. ROBIN E. ROBERTS EASTERN SHORE POLICE ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT | ||||||
